College Success Course

COLL 110 is a 2-credit course that provides an introduction to the Olympic College community, resources, and skills necessary for student success. Topics include goal setting, college resources, personal empowerment, career and academic planning, time management, study skills, and financial literacy.

COLL 133 is a 3-credit course for Running Start students that provides equivalent information as COLL 110 while also meeting the High School and Beyond requirements.
 

In these courses, you’ll build connections with other students, faculty and staff, and get to know resources and degree pathways at the college. It’s especially helpful if you’re undecided about your degree and program options and wish to explore your options before declaring a program of study. 

AA-DTA students must take the course within their first two quarters at Olympic College. 

Students who meet any of the following criteria are exempt from this policy:

• Transfer in with 30 credits or more and minimum 2.0 GPA from a college/university with institutional accreditation.*
• Completed a degree at a college/university with institutional accreditation.
• Successfully completed (2.0, C, P, or higher) an equivalent course at another institution within the past two years.
• Enrolled at another institution and attending Olympic for a quarter.

If you were enrolled at Olympic College prior to Fall 2024, you are not required to take the course. 

Exemptions will be automatically applied following transcript evaluation and available in your Advisement Report in ctcLink. 

* Does not include exam-based dual credit options (Advanced Placement (AP), Cambridge International (CI), International Baccalaureate (IB) programs) or Career and Technical Education (CTE) Dual Credit and College in the High School (CiHS) course-based dual credit options.
