About the Office of the President

The Office of the President at Olympic College provides leadership and strategic direction to support the college’s mission and long-term success. The President, appointed by the Olympic College Board of Trustees, serves as the college’s chief executive officer.

Working closely with campus leadership, the President oversees the day-to-day operations of the college, including academic programs, student services, and administrative functions. The role provide stewardship of the college’s financial resources, developing and managing the budget to ensure responsible use of public funds while advancing institutional priorities.

At its core, the Office of the President is committed to fostering a collaborative, student-centered environment and ensuring Olympic College continues to serve the community with integrity, transparency, and care.

Olympic College President, Dr. Chantae Recasner

Chantae Recasner

Dr. Chantae Recasner, the 16th President of Olympic College, brings more than 20 years of higher education experience and leadership, including roles as Tenured Faculty, Dean of Instruction, and Vice President of Instruction. She has served K-12 and higher education in various roles with a commitment to growing stronger, more equitable communities. In 2024, she was appointed interim president of Seattle Central College by the Seattle Colleges District Chancellor and Board of Trustees.

She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education from the University of Cincinnati (2009), a Master of Business in Operational Excellence from Ohio State University (2017), and two Master of Arts degrees from Ohio State University (2003) in Teaching & Learning and African and African American Studies. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Loyola University New Orleans in 2001.

Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is charged with establishing policies and decision-making with regard to legal matters, real property and/or personnel as defined by Revised Code of Washington Chapter 28B.50. Membership is comprised of five community members appointed by the Governor of the State of Washington. Find out more on our Board of Trustees page. 

Executive Team

The Executive Team advises the President regarding the operations areas of the College. This role includes making recommendations on annual planning, environmental and institutional assessment, goal setting, strategy formation and budget development. Each member represents their respective area of responsibility. As a governing body, the Executive Team makes decisions about College policies and operations once appropriate research has been completed. Contact the President's Office for meeting information.
